We would you to invite you to attend the forthcoming National Conference of the Philippine Sociological Society (PSS) on 16-18 October 2014 at the Mindanao State University-General Santos City. The theme for this year’s conference is “Crises, Resiliency and Community: Sociology in the Age of Disasters.” The conference is open to members of the PSS as well as to non-members who are professionals, scholars, graduate students and/or teachers of social science.
This year’s conference aims to advance the discussion on the role of sociological inquiry in making sense of disasters (broadly defined) and facilitate exchange of knowledge and promote collaborative work between sociologists in the academe and practitioners in humanitarian organizations, government and NGOs
The registration fee is P2,500.00, which cover four meals (lunch and dinner for two days) and a conference kit. The organizing team may be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have planned an optional tour for conference participants on 16th of October. This tour includes visit to General Santos City fish port, breakfast at Dole Philippines Country Club, zipline adventure at Lake Sebu, lunch at Punta Isla, Boat Tour of Lake Sebu, and visit at the Durian Garden. We will announce the amount of the tour fee sometime later.
